A child or young person has special educational needs and disabilities if they have a learning difficulty and/or a disability that means they need special health and education support, we shorten this to SEND. Health Visitors complete developmental checks to identify concerns early. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s development contact your Health Visitor or School Nurse.
Our aim is to accurately identify all SEND children in Slough and work with families, the local authority, and schools to offer an appropriate level of support.
Any child identified with SEND will be guided through a bespoke pathway of interventions focused on preparing them for the next stage of life.
