About us

We provide high quality health and wellbeing services to families in Slough

Slough Child and Family Wellbeing provides health visiting and school nursing services to all families in the borough.

Our skilled teams are dedicated to working with children and young people and their families to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.

Health Visitors and School Nurses are fully qualified nurses or midwives who are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and have completed additional training in community public health nursing.

Health visiting services, from pre-birth to school age

Our health visitors will arrange to visit you at home to provide advice on your antenatal care and the care of your baby and young children. In the first few months we will monitor your baby’s growth and development providing advice or referral to another professional for any issues that arise. Later we will monitor your young child’s development and readiness for school.

School nursing services for 5 to 19-year-olds (up to age 25 for SEND)

School nurses usually see children at school to provide health and wellbeing advice. Parents and carers will be sent information about the visits that the school nurse makes to the school and permission will be sought for the National Child Measurement Programme when this takes place.

We continue providing these services for young people with special educational needs (SEND) up to the age of 25.

 HCRG Care Group

‘We Care’, ‘We Think’ and ‘We Do’: We care about the person in front of us, we think about how to make things better for them and we do something about it.

HCRG Care Group is commissioned by Slough Borough Council to provide health visiting and school nursing services. (These services are also known as Public Health Nursing.)

Changing lives through transforming health and care

We’re proud to have made a positive impact up and down the country by designing and delivering services that address the wider economic, social, and environmental challenges faced by the communities we serve.

Health and care commissioners across the country trust us to work with them and their communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency and improved outcomes. We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care and sexual health as well as child and adult social care and wellbeing services.

Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year.
